Berlin Excursion: a round trip of the city

Friendly, competent guides welcome you and show you Berlin’s many well-known landmarks, giving you plenty of fascinating detail and background information. The Berlin round trip takes you through the inner-city areas in east and west, and also includes a visit to Kreuzberg to give you an impression of “real” life in our metropolis.

Individual walking tour through Berlin’s political centres

This tour focuses particularly on the city’s political significance in the past, present and future.

The tour includes the former government district on Wilhelmstrasse, where the most important ministries were located up to the end of the Second World War - as well as the new government district with the Federal Chancellery and Reichstag/Bundestag (the parliament building), the Brandenburg Gate and Pariser Platz, with detailed explanations of all places visited.

Tour highlights:

Reichstag/government district, Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz, former government district on Wilhelmstrasse, location of Hitler’s bunker, Potsdamer Platz, former border strip where the Berlin Wall stood, Berlin House of Representatives, Ministry of Finance, longest section of Berlin Wall remaining in the city centre, Checkpoint Charlie.

Walking tour of Scheunenviertel district and Hackesche Höfe

Immerse yourself in the old Berlin: gangster tales, tiny alleyways and the ‘milljö’ (milieu), the area local artist Heinrich Zille portrayed realistically yet humorously in his famous drawings – and the story of one of his favourite pubs. A chance to see not-yet-renovated courtyards, the Hackesche Höfe courtyard complex, and an old ballroom, and to experience Berlin’s Jewish history.

You will learn about the area’s transformation from a poverty-stricken neighbourhood into one of Berlin’s smartest shopping centres. The tour includes tips on how to spend your evening and shopping hints!

At 368 metres, the Berlin TV tower is the highest building in Europe that is open to the public. In addition to the visitors’ terrace, the Telecafé restaurant is worth a visit. It rotates through 360° in one hour.
